Maple Syrup Grades


Grade A Golden, Delicate (Formerly Fancy)
Golden color with a delicate bouquet flavor is the lightest grade. Golden delicate is made in the earliest part of the maple sugaring season. The preferred grade for maple cream, maple candy, and as a topping on vanilla ice cream.


Grade A Amber, Rich (Formerly Medium Amber)
Amber in color rich in flavor grade is the all around table syrup. Amber Rich is made in the middle of the maple sugaring season. It is the preferred grade for pancakes, waffles, coffee, and tea.


Grade A Dark, Robust (Formerly Grade B)
Dark in color and robust in flavor grade is the cooking syrup. Dark Robust is made at the end of the maple sugaring season. The trademark of dark robust is the heavy maple flavor. It is the preferred grade for cooking recipes, meat glazes, oatmeal, cold cereals, pasta sauces, barbecue sauces, and baked beans.

Very Dark Color with Strong Taste (Formerly Grade C)
Produced at the end of the season, itβs perfect for cooking and baking. When you need a strong maple flavor in a bread or cookie, ice cream, or barbecue sauce, this is the grade of choice
